Keiranthil Joins Yiska AND More - This Week in Overwatch - 11/6/21

Keiranthil Joins Yiska on GGRecon Overwatch Channels

This week, Justice Fans were granted insight on how Grant “Keiranthil” Paranjape, VP of Esports at the Washington Justice, views and maneuvers steering an Overwatch League team.

In the first part of a two-part interview series with GGRecon, Grant Paranjape discussed effectively balancing a spending budget, providing an optimal environment for players and managing disparate expectations from fans.

“The players can literally get to the practice facility without having to walk outside if they so choose.”

In part two, Grant Paranjape dove into the cost of budgets, his opinions on Overwatch 2 and the unique value that Sup7eme brings to the Justice as Head Coach. In the most eruptive OWL off-season yet, Grant provides insight on how the Justice is commanding this unprecedented time.

“For Sup7eme, he is like the emotional glue that holds our team together.”

Young Phenom “Patiphan” Rumored to Return to Overwatch

The Overwatch League is rumored to be on the cusp of bringing back one of its youngest and brightest stars. Patiphan Chaiwong, whose gamertag reflects his namesake, was just 15 when he appeared for Team Thailand in the 2018 Overwatch World Cup. A jack-of-all-trades at the DPS role, Patiphan was highly regarded as one of the best players to emerge from the Southeast region, competing on Contenders team, Talon Esports. However, due to his young age, he was ineligible to star in the Overwatch League, so he shifted his focus to competing in Valorant.

With the Valorant Champions Tour approaching in December, it seems that Patiphan will be eyeing a return to the Overwatch League after the competition wraps up. As a testament to his ability, his return would likely elevate the DPS line of whatever team he lands on to one of the strongest in the league, making his recruitment one of the highest-profile moves of this offseason.

There has been no shortage of excitement during this free agency period, and with another headline move in the making, it doesn’t seem as if that excitement is due to run out any time soon. Check out some of his highlights from his pre-OWL time as a phenom on Team Thailand during the last OWC.
