Krillin & More Free Agency Updates - This Week in Overwatch 10/30/21

Krillin Joins The Justice

As the offseason continues our roster is becoming more and more defined! This past week, we added flex support Krillin, seen more recently for T1 in Contenders Korea after two seasons on the London Spitfire. He’ll cover the flex support role until Vigilante turns 18 and provide depth in double fs metas.

“Extremely strong player, even stronger mental.,” General manager PRE wrote on Twitter. “We're thrilled to be benefiting from the hard work Krillin has been putting in at T1. Lots to be excited about with this player, you might even get a sneak peek of him soon”

Free Agency Around The League

Settle down, buckle up and get ready because week three of OWL Free Agency was WILD. If OWL Free agency were a trilogy, weeks one and two acted as plot filler building up to the climax that was week three.

With signings announced every day, it’s impossible to list them all, but here are some of the truly important signings you should know:

The Los Angeles Gladiators possessed no chill this week with announcement after announcement. Perhaps one of the biggest signings so far happened this past weekend with the Gladiator’s signing of hitscan DPS Ans. Gladiator fans also sighed in relief earlier this week with the resigning of Space, one of the Gladiators’ most consistent players in the 2021 season. Follow that up with the signing of Main Tank Extraordinaire Reiner, and the Gladiators’ front line looks poised to hold their shields up. With a newly promoted head coach in Face, the Los Angeles Gladiators look eager to brush off any shortcomings from the previous season.

Boston Uprising wrestled Crimzo away from the Houston Outlaws earlier this week, yet more surprises remained for Uprising fans. Ready to run it back, Striker rejoined the Uprising followed by the resigning of Valentine. Will this dynamic DPS duo the Boston Uprising are composed to deliver after a lackluster season.

Another move that surprised was Paris locking down stud DPS Glister, who became the first player in Overwatch League history to play for both EU franchises.

Lastly, the San Francisco Shock announced the trio of Proper, Kilo and Finn, all from Back to Back Korean Contenders Champions 02 Blast.

Blizzard Responds to Player Feedback About Experimental Patch

Your screams into the void have been heard!

Last week, we wrote about the experimental patch that the game dev team at Blizzard unveiled. The changes laid out in the patch did not seem to resonate well with players, who were particularly concerned that the changes bolstering Torbjörn, Cassidy, and Junkrat would make an already suffering tank role even more burdensome. After allowing the patch to go live, players continued to make their voices heard, and Blizzard responded.

For the community’s sake, the Overwatch team issued a completely transparent statement through a community manager on their forum. In it, they acknowledged the generally negative feedback regarding their DPS changes, and thanked community members for their participation in the patch and the conversations surrounding it.

Players were relieved to see their concerns validated, and that their voices had not fallen upon deaf ears. Seeing their feedback addressed in an official statement, was enough to stomp out any player speculation that game devs were operating in a world of their own.

Not all changes were regarded as bad, however. Moira also received a buff, slowing down the speed of her biotic orb to make her more viable from the support line. Although some were concerned that it was lowering her skill-ceiling, the general consensus was that the change was a positive one.
